Installation

Pixi-sandbox is a pure Rust CLI with static musl binaries — no Python, no runtime deps.

Terminal window
cargo install pixi-sandbox
pixi-sandbox --version
# Now available as pixi extension:
pixi sandbox --version

Connected hosts need Pixi installed. The supported installation path is the native package from the Archont561 ecosystem channel:

Terminal window
pixi global install --channel https://prefix.dev/archont561/archont561 --channel conda-forge pixi-sandbox
pixi-sandbox init

The ecosystem channel carries every package published under the Archont561 namespace. pixi-sandbox init does not modify your Pixi manifest — the CLI install is global and explicit, and no project channel list needs to know about it.

Installing or upgrading from ≤ 0.4.3? Releases before 0.4.4 were published to the package-specific https://prefix.dev/archont561/pixi-sandbox channel. Pinned installs from it keep working; to upgrade, use the ecosystem channel above.

Standalone binaries and SHA256SUMS remain available for verified transport bootstrap. Download the matching binary and checksum file, verify it with your platform’s SHA-256 tool, then mark it executable. Connected hosts should use the canonical Pixi package above.

Each release publishes:

pixi-sandbox-x86_64-unknown-linux-musl
pixi-sandbox-aarch64-unknown-linux-musl
pixi-sandbox-x86_64-apple-darwin
pixi-sandbox-aarch64-apple-darwin
pixi-sandbox-x86_64-pc-windows-msvc.exe
SHA256SUMS

Default template pixi-sandbox-{target}{exe} — verified by setup action before exec.

All binaries are static: musl on Linux, native on macOS/Windows. No dynamic PT_INTERP — verified by doctor and verify.rs.
